Monroe Job Bank procedures
Applicants must be at least 13 years of age

Household chores and yard work will have a lower age requirement than other types of jobs.
The Department of Labor regulates the age requirements for each type of employment.

1. Pick up an application from the Job Bank Board in the Guidance office at Masuk High School or at the Social Services office in the Town Hall. Fill out the employee application and send it to: Monroe Job Bank C/O The Youth Commission--Town Hall--7 Fan Hill Road--Monroe, CT. 06468, or bring it to the Social Services department in the Town Hall. If your application is accepted the Monroe Job Bank Coordinator will set up an interview with you either in person or on the telephone.

2. Following the interview if you are accepted, your application will go into the Monroe Job Bank file.

3. When a position becomes available you will be contacted by the Monroe Job Bank. If this position is something that you would like to have, we will give your contact information to that employer. If the employer does not contact you please let us know so we can help out. You are not under any obligation to accept every job that is offered to you. It is better to decline a position and wait for another one, than to accept a position you do not want or have time to fulfill.

4. When you are contacted by a potential employer, please remember to be courteous and professional.

5. It is important that you fill out the application yourself. By participating in the Monroe Job Bank, you are gaining the experience of the real world job market. Applications and interviews are a very important part of this process.

6. A parental consent form must also be submitted for enrollment in the Monroe Job Bank.
